toename bij toename leeftijd naar hoog mediaal gewelf van 2,3% naar 7,2%

afname bij toename leeftijd van (soepele) platvoet van 41,7% naar 5,7%
•
in de twee oudste leeftijdscategorieën korte AP in 39% van de kinderen met hoog mediaal gewelf, in 56% bij normaal gewelf en in 77% bij laag gewelf……

Conclusie: •
2,7% platvoeten, echter 14,2% behandeling platvoeten

van de 2,7% platvoeten werd maar 28,1% behandeld
•
extrapolatie: 28.167 kinderen behandeling = $4.447.442 bij ontbreken relatie diagnose platvoet en behandeling…..

Foot Ankle Int 2007;28:715-23 • RCT custom made orthoses vs ready-made orthoses vs control • 178 kinderen met excessieve pronatie voorvoet, gerandomiseerd onderzoek • Outcome: motorische ontwikkeling, zelf perceptie, pijn bij 0, 3 en 12 maanden • resultaten: 160 kinderen: geen verschil • conclusie: geen indicatie voor schoen orthose in soepele “excess foot pronation”

• eigenwaarde lager in de schoenaanpassing groep (p<0.05) • negatieve herinnering (57%), geplaagd 47%, beperkt in activiteiten 41% • suggestie relatie negatieve “schoen”ervaring in jeugd en lagere eigenwaarde op volwassen leeftijd…..

KORTOM……….. • nog steeds wetenschappelijke vragen rondom (kinder)schoenen….. • voorlopig geen positief effect op de ontwikkeling van (de voet van) het kind aangetoond…… • schoenen dienen voorlopig alleen voor het comfort van het kind…….. Cosmetiek en acceptatie

KORTOM……….. het is veilig de 5 F’s aan te houden: • 1.Flexible (soepel: zool moet met een hand te buigen zijn) • 2.Flat (geen hoge hakken) • 3.Foot-shaped (voldoende ruimte voorvoet) • 4.Fitted generously (beter te groot dan te klein) • 5.Friction like skin
